Our head chef Daniel has carefully crafted our menu to make the most of our fortunate position here in the heart of Angus. Our dishes incorporate the very finest produce locally farmed and delivered fresh to the restaurant, whether that be fresh free-range eggs from Craignathro Farm at Balmashanner, delicious Aberdeen Angus steaks butchered by Alan Rennie’s or fresh dairy produce from North Street Dairy. Every dish, every sauce, every dessert is prepared from scratch on the premises, ensuring the highest quality every time you visit. It also means we can cater for your dietary requirements by modifying any of our dishes so please let our team know if you have any dietary restrictions.

Cashley’s at The Cross is one of Forfar’s oldest buildings & was used in the 1660s to hold Forfar’s witches prior to trial. Downstairs you'll feel the well worn passage in the floor which was the last walkway of the poor witches. Going upstairs, our murel shows the witches who were said to dance with the devil at Forfar Loch & Lappy Dub (that’s our logo). There's also the legendary Coo O’ Forfar who drank from a brewer's barrel, resulting in a court case. The court ruled that the drink was a deoch an doras and therefore at the brewers expense as the coo was standing at the door and any other outcome would be an insult to Scottish hospitality. look out too for the Aberlemno Kelpies. These fine mythical beasts are from the Pictish standing stones at Aberlemno.
